The Linkup Quote Quarry is an extension of Linkup which will allow you to:
- Find quotes quickly and easily through highly structured search options: author, subject, time period, country, language, length of quote.
- Assemble your own sets of quotes online, in the form of "collections" on Quote Quarry.
- Easily include your collections on your own web site, automatically rotating on a basis you choose (daily, hourly, random, and more).
- Automatically send quotes from your collections to your own email for inspiration.
- Export your collections to a wide range of formats: plain text, MS Word, HTML, PowerPoint, Flash.
- Create events with your friends for which you and your friends can build a collection together and use the collection at the event.
Our intention is to include only high quality quotes, and specifically quotes which encourage thought and critical reflection. We want you to turn your brain on, not off.
In order to create a deeper experience, our goal is also to provide a complete bio for each source. In your collections and in export, you will have the option of including the associated bio with each quote.
Some ideas for using Quote Quarry:
- Create a collection, and add it to your web site so that a different quote appears automatically each day, hour, or page view.
- Share a collection with friends or colleagues by sending the collection to them by email.
- Create a party at which you and your guests contribute quotes from your collections, and then discuss everyone's selections.
